The COVID-19 pandemic, which brought unprecedented health and humanitarian challenges for India and the entire world from 2020, has hit people’s health and lives hard. Even as the nation and the world faced the crisis WE took various initiatives to support the SOCIETY on urgent needs emergency food requirements of the most vulnerable. From healthcare to medical oxygen, from livelihood support to vaccination, at every stage OUR MEMBERS has stepped forward to support the SOCIETY to address the needs of the hour. AKSHAR PATSHALA also provided bulk rations to community kitchens that were serving meals to migrant families, labourers, homeless and other needy people. AKSHAR PATSHALA also supported migrant labourers returning to their home towns and villages by providing cooked meals and rations to support them during these challenging times. To raise awareness on prevention and safety, Mission COVID Suraksha on the distribution of masks across India to frontline warriors and communities, along with raising awareness on the importance of COVID-safe behaviour. AKSHAR PATSHALA distributed masks to police personnel, municipal workers and vulnerable communities with high risk of exposure.

Understanding our social obligations at the time of Covid 19 global pandemic, we have helped the people throughout the time, in which we have helped the lower and middle classes of the society by delivering necessary relief material to them, the migrant laborers need material like Provided food items, water, glucose, medicines etc. When the global pandemic affected all sections of the society, and mainly there was lack of availability and access of medical facilities to all the people. During this epidemic, there was an atmosphere of fear among the people, people did not have enough information available. People were confused about the common cold and symptoms of covid, and were suffering from other serious problems as well.

During this epidemic, OPD facilities in the hospital were closed and there was an atmosphere of fear among the people, in view of such a situation of the society, students of the social work faculty of Mahatma Gandhi KashiVidyapeeth and AksharPathshala and Bhadaini with the aim of helping the people. The SARTHI program was started in association with Mirror weekly newspaper. In this program we helped people through telemedicine with the help of doctors from Varanasi. Under the Sarathi program, efforts were made to fulfill the need of oxygen in the society, through telephone, health services were provided to the people of every section of the society and also counseled them. Tried to ensure availability of platelets and blood.
